basic mathematical shapes and terms

 1 square

a square all ways has 4 sides that are all the same length and angle on each side the angle should be 90 decreases on each corner and it should be the same length diagonal 

2 rectangle 

a rectangle doesn't have the same size sides all around it but it has 90 right angle edges the length of the side will always be the same as the opposite side

3 parallelogram 

a parallelogram is a 4 sided shape that the opposite sides are the same length and corner to corner should be the same length 

4 rhombus 

A Rhombus is a flat shape with 4 equal straight sides. Opposite sides are parallel, and opposite angles are equal

5 kite 

a kite is a quadrilateral whose four sides can be grouped into two pairs of equal-length sides that are adjacent to each other. In contrast, a parallelogram also has two pairs of equal-length sides, but they are opposite to each other rather than adjacent.

6 isosceles trapezium 

Isosceles trapezoids have two sides that are opposite and parallel. The angles adjacent to each non-parallel side are supplementary. The angles adjacent to each parallel side are congruent. The non-parallel sides have the same length.

7 trapezium 

A trapezium has two parallel sides and two non-parallel sides.
